Being a tourist

When you live in a place, it somehow feels as though you are exempt from doing the touristy things as much. There isn't a deadline or sense or urgency to see things so you can fall into the trap of not seeing much.  It's strange how a sense of finality can do this to you.  Be it looking around a city, or even doing an assignment.

Gotemba has a reasonable bit to offer. I had a friend come visit and using her Japanese skills we managed to do the touristy thing again and see some sights. And it was Fun! I love travelling. I need to make more of an effort to do this tourist thing.

May 05 is Children's day/Boy's day.  Many places have these carp fish streamers.  The carp is supposed to travel up-stream and become a dragon and represents a healthy 'genki' life.



We went to some flower park (can't remember the name).  Quite pretty!
