Forth to Toyohashi!

Shinkansen only took me about 30 minutes to get to Nagoya station. After doing a 4000+km road trip, these distances are laughable! Didn't get a seat but such a short ride it really didn't matter. I rested on my suitcase anyways.

At Nagoya St I met Masako (AKA Mako) and we went onwards to her smaller hometown of Toyohashi. For those who don't know she's my housemate from Tasmania. She was studying Architectural/design stuff in Tassie on a student visa. Now she's back home and helping the family with her sister's Wedding and preparations, and also trying to look for a few projects. She was in Nagoya on one of these searches so was able to meet with me!

Toyohashi is between Nagoya and Tokyo. "Small" comparatively with about 400k people. Mainly car import/export and agriculture industries so definitely more spread out.

Probably about a 30 minute drive out of town is Mako's house and family. On the outskirts of town so into the agricultural landscape.

Went for a walk in the morning to a park. Still some signs of Autumn remaining.

Agricultural landscape near Mako's home. Quite a few greenhouses for off-season flowers and vegetables. Mainly cabbages in Toyohashi, although here you see some off season rice fields.
