Hakuba Valley

Hakuba is more or less an entire mountain range with a handful of different ski resorts dotted around the ranges.  The city is Happo and it sprawls maybe the size of two to three of them.  Since it is a large city with ribbon development like that, there is no real 'centre' and thus you need to catch shuttles up to the mountain of your choice for the day.  Lots of Aussies, and extremely westernized it didn't feel like Japan much at all.  Even restaurants were heavily influenced by the international crowds.
The weather was great, warmed up pretty rapidly so didn't get many powder days, but the ones I did completely made the visit worthwhile.  Met some cool people and was definitely a fun mountain range.

Me & a mate had a comp of snow faces and asked random passers by to vote on which was better.  This was my old lady face and I won :P
