Kyoto - Fushiyama

Fushiyama Inari is one of the biggest temples in Japan & it's famous for all it's Torii (gates).  It was an awesome sunny day for the hike to the top of the mountain making the Torii glow so vibrantly.  NONE OF THESE SHOTS WERE EDITED! :-O and it even started snowing too which was really pretty.  Good hike & good view of Kyoto.

Some times I feel it would be more fun to travel with someone else to share the experiences with, but then I get lost and wander through little back streets and stumble across some amazing Japanese houses and local shrines and then come back to the hostel and meet some amazingly cool people and it really is quite alright.

Mini Torii being made & painted to hang over the millions of little shrines scattered throughout the mountain.

More stairs

These were all for one single shrine.  And the mountain had thousands of shrines.  Puts it in perspective eh

Just kimonos not geisha.  Still pretty

Some areas are stacked really close together.

Peace haha.

Soo many stairs!

View from about halfway up the mt.  The very top was forested so no real view.
On my way down I got lost going through back streets.  Here was a little stray that didn't mind me being white
Tofukuji templle was also near Fushiyama but I didn't go inside.  This was the gate and it's the oldest gate in Japan so I figured that was a bigger calling card than yet another guy-who-owned-a-temple-that-got-burned-down-and-restored.
